Presentation Tips

Bridget's Top Tips for making an impact

1.Take a look in a full length mirror. What do I see? Would people trust me? Would people want to have a meeting with me? Do I demonstrate my leader ship in clothes and posture?

2.Then take another look:
Care: Do my clothes look cared for?
Flair: Is there one aspect in my appearance that shows a bit of style?
Aware:Are my clothes suitable for the occasion/client?

3.Prepare to have impact i.e. what’s my objective? What would a win-win look like? What’s my main message?

4.Use a strong voice and open body language to inspire confidence; strong handshake, direct eye contact and a big smile!

5.Creating rapport with someone whether in an interview, a presentation or a meeting is what will make you impactful.Try to have a brief conversation with people before you start – this helps you to manage the nerves and you will speak with more confidence.

6.Warm up. Before you go into a meeting whether you’re speaking or simply actively listening, you need to prepare the body physically: Shake out your hands, roll the shoulders, take a big breath, just to create some energy and get focused.
